I can't recommend this maternity belt enough. My biggest regret is not getting it earlier in my pregnancy. I am pregnant with twins and this belt has been an absolute game changer for me and my comfort level. The 3 piece process allows for a tight fit (and lift) across the lower belly and support of the lower back. The belt across the top isn't tight or restricted yet provides a balanced comfort across the 3-part system. When finally purchasing the belt, I was 27 weeks gestationally but measuring as a singleton pregnancy at 37 weeks. Anytime I stand up and walk around, I wear the belt. It's easy to put on and provides me with confidence that I can get through the next 2+ months of pregnancy with a level of comfort Ihad been lacking.

Okay, I never usually write reviews but I think this can be very helpful to mothers who are expecting and are experiencing the pains and aches of pregnancy. I listened to other reviews and sized up, would normally be a L but got an XL, 5’4 and 195 lbs with all this baby weight LOL! I toured my schools city with my coworkers as part of a teaching activity and let me tell you! Only one day wearing this and it’s made a world of a difference. I’m 35 weeks and have been experiencing major back pain for the past couple weeks to the point where I couldn’t walk, couldn’t stand, and being a teacher, I need to be able to do those things! Wearing this I feel little to no back pain at all, it really helps to support you and hold up your stomach while also straightening out and supporting your back where it naturally curves from extra weight from the baby. Even taking it off I felt no pain, but after walking around without it for a few the back pain settled right back in. But I felt no back pain the entire work day with this belly band on. If you’re debating about buying this product, and you are experiencing major back pain, get it!! It will help you so much, just remember to size up. Good luck mamas to be!

I ordered this on July 21st.. was sure to measure my belly and order according to their recommended size chart. I was going to order a size up since I am only 5 months pregnant, but after I measured I was still 2” LESS than even making the chart for their minimum band circumference range (size small). I also measured at an angle from the middle of my back to under my belly to be sure I gave a little extra “wiggle room” on the growth chart. So I thought, ‘ok - I have a 9” range within this size before I could outgrow this. Perfect! I won’t need more than that.’ I am very petite, (5’2” and 115lbs at 23 weeks pregnant) and I carry small - so small that usually no one even knows I am pregnant til I hit 7 1/2 months or so. My babies are 6lbs by 40 weeks. I don’t even have stretch marks. No Mommy badges of honor here. :’( This is my fourth pregnancy, and I know my body well. So far it’s been just the same growth rate as the other three pregnancies. So - all that background to say.. the splint came quickly and it fit perfectly. That was around July 30th. Exactly where I needed support without being too tight or uncomfortable. Unfortunately, by the first week of Sempember, it was getting way too small. I needed a lot of side to belly support (where you see the band hitting in the model photo or even a tad more towards the belly would be brilliant), and while I can still strap it on, the the elastic strap (for the belly piece) is at the very edge of the pad and too tight on my kidney area. The elastic is able to be stretched a little further but gets rigid and just way too tight if I try.. to the point where it is digging in to my back. The larger sides that wrap from the back barely catch the edge of the tummy piece now. They stay attached even on that little edge (the Velcro is soft but so strong) but I feel more squeezed than supported. By evening my sides feel bruised and I can’t wait to pop it off. (It literally ‘pops’ off and my belly jumps forward). I have not grown much in the belly outwards, and have only gained 4lbs, since the splint was ordered. Of course, by the time I realized the band was not going to last the remaining months of pregnancy.. my August 26th return order deadline was passed (and I had been wearing it every other day for a month.. can’t exactly return something already worn either!) . I am really bummed that I didn’t just order a size up like I had planned.. I am still within the sizing guide for the Small but I don’t know how. This does not fit with the amount of support it first did unless I pull it so tight that my kidneys hurt. My advice, if you are small anyway (not sure how the bigger sizes fit) and especially if you have a few months left in your pregnancy - give yourself the extra support and bigger growth range with ordering a size up. Seems good logic but the sizing chart talked me out of it. So stick with your “gut reaction” ;). The size Small fits great when you are at the very bottom end of their growth chart. Maybe some women’s aches or support areas are still covered all the way through that sizing range, but for me (diastasis recti and weak spinal column) the support was needed like a “hug” all the way around my back and sides onto my tummy and this only offers lumbar support after you hit the middle measurement on their range. I don’t think I measured wrong, especially since the angled measurement was bigger than my straight out (spine to belly button) measurement. But I suppose user error is always possible especially with pregnancy brain. I don’t know if I will reorder a bigger size.. depends on how desperate I get. At least I still have the AZMED and will need to grow another 15” to outgrow that one. ;) That one is just not as supportive on the big needs as this NEOtech was. The price is great for the quality and amount of relief it provides but money has been tight and I hate spending it on the same thing I just bought and thought I was good to go on. $25 for 4 months of use is great! $25 for a month and a half might as well be a steep rental charge. :P :( Aside from size, here are my other thoughts... I also ordered the AZMED band because I have a 3 finger diastasis recti and need tummy support. I wasn’t sure which splint would help more. They arrived on the same day and I wore AZMED first because it was so easy to put on. I didn’t really feel like “ahhhhhh” when I put it on.. no Instant relief. But I wore it for the next three days and my belly pain was gone. The trick was putting it on first thing in the morning and wearing it like it was my own skin (not taking it on and off). Then my back was aching and I knew I needed to either return this NEO Tech splint or try it out. So I put it on around 5pm. Instantly I felt the “ahhhhhhh” as the back supported my lower lumbar area and the front pulled up my belly just enough to get the pressure off my hips and bladder. It felt amazing. I would wear the AZMED in the mornings and switch to this in the afternoons.. some days just wearing one or the other all day and some days wearing BOTH at the same time. I have split wood in the double splint combo (AZMED plus NEOTech) and I work outside on our homestead... I would wear the AZMED with the NEOtech strapped over it. I have brilliant posture with those both on and my belly and back feel so good at the end of the day. Why it took my until my fourth baby to get a splint at all is beyond me. I had to wear a tank top under both splints.. the fabric is soft (well made, no itchy or sharp seams) but still not a natural fiber so my skin would itch once the splint warmed up. Sweat makes them chafe like crazy. Also, I don’t have issues with needing to take it off when I go to the bathroom like some reviews said.. But I only wear skirts or elastic waisted linen pants so maybe that is why. Both I wear over the splint. It is a little bulky under clothes but not bad at all. The only place you can see it is where the sides Velcro to the tummy piece. When you are pregnant, everything is bulky under your clothes, so it doesn’t seem any worse to me than an extra tank top or fabric nursing bra.

Understanding Maternity Belly Belts: What Are They?

Maternity belly belts are specifically designed support bands crafted to provide gentle compression and support to the lower back, abdomen, and pelvic area during pregnancy. They come in various styles, from simple wrap-around designs to more complex adjustable bands, catering to individual comfort preferences. These bands offer a blend of flexibility and support, alleviating discomfort associated with the growing belly, back pain, and pelvic pressure.

Product Description Our Upsie Belly Pregnancy Support Band helps reduce the strain your growing belly places on your body. The doctor recommended maternity support belt is designed to help redistribute the weight of your growing belly, reducing strain on your back muscles and easing back aches. Additionally, the pregnancy support band limits the mobility of pelvic joints to alleviate pelvic pain, and relieves bladder discomfort. Ideal for use during exercise, the pelvic support belt increases postural stability, which can weaken during pregnancy as your center of gravity shifts. The grow-with-you design offers 12” of adjustability which adapts to your changing size and shape and is finished with an anti-dig closure. This maternity band is made from ultra-soft viscose from bamboo fabric and features SecureStretch which molds to your body. We recommend machine washing our pregnancy belts cold and laying flat to dry - do not bleach, iron or dry clean. Offering high support and medium compression, our Upsie Belly pregnancy support wrap is available in sizes S-XL, has a front height of 4.5” and a back height of 8”. Belly Bandit was born to provide a diverse collection of maternity and post-pregnancy essentials specifically created to make women look and feel their absolute best, with designs that help to speed recovery, to aid in healing, and to provide much-needed support for overstressed muscles and joints. While you're nurturing your baby, Belly Bandit nurtures you.

Benefits of Maternity Belly Belts
During pregnancy, the body undergoes significant changes, often leading to discomfort and strain. These belly belts offer a multitude of benefits:

  • Support and Stability: They provide essential support to the lower back, reducing strain and promoting better posture.
  • Pain Relief: Alleviate pelvic and back pain by distributing weight evenly and reducing pressure.
  • Improved Circulation: Enhance blood flow, reducing swelling in the legs and ankles.
  • Versatility: Can be worn during various activities, from daily routines to exercise.

How to Use Maternity Belly Belts Effectively

Using a maternity belly belt effectively involves understanding the proper positioning and duration of wear. Here are essential steps to maximize the benefits:

  1. Finding the Right Fit: Ensure a snug yet comfortable fit, offering support without being too tight.
  2. Proper Positioning: Place the belly band below the belly, supporting the lower back and wrapping around the hips for optimal support.
  3. Moderation in Wear: While beneficial, prolonged wear isn’t advisable. Aim for intervals during the day to prevent over-reliance.

Choosing the Right Maternity Belly Belt: Key Considerations

Selecting the perfect maternity belly belt involves a few considerations to tailor the choice to individual needs:

  1. Size and Adjustability: Opt for adjustable bands to accommodate the changing body shape throughout pregnancy.
  2. Material and Comfort: Look for breathable fabrics like cotton or moisture-wicking materials for enhanced comfort.
  3. Activity Level: Consider specific belts designed for daily wear versus those suitable for exercise or more active routines.

This product is amazing. I cannot say enough wonderful things about it.

I am 34 weeks pregnant and this is my 3rd pregnancy. Throughout the end of my 2nd pregnancy I could barely walk without excruciating pain. I later found out that I had SPD (moderate to severe pubic bone pain due to the spreading or separation of the ligaments in the pubic symphysis area). During my second pregnancy my sweet husband bought me several prenatal massages to try and treat the pain, but the relief only lasted a day or two at best.

I was hopeful that maybe with this pregnancy I would be okay, but for the last few weeks I've been in agony again. And once again we were looking at massage therapy to relieve the pain. While waiting for my ob to return from delivering a baby so I could have my biweekly check up, I decided to go to a nearby spa and see if they could fit me in for a prenatal massage that day. Given their proximity to an ob's office, they have a lot of products catered to pregnant women.

As I began describing my pain to a spa employee, she whipped out one of these belly bands and suggested I give it a try. She measured my belly and suggested I try on a medium (I am 5' 10" and 200 lbs and measured 42" around my belly). It was INCREDIBLE. The relief was immediate. I was absolutely stunned, walking around the spa with absolutely no pain. I was thrilled... until she mentioned the price. $70?? I was sure I could find something cheaper that would work just as well. So I called my local Babies R Us and they assured me they had a vast selection of belly bands for me to choose from.

So after my ob check up, I went to Babies R Us and tried on a few bands. None of them really helped, but I decided to go ahead and purchase one of the cheaper ones. I figured any support was better than no support.

After I got home I strapped on the cheaper band and gave it a test run. After nearly an hour of wearing the cheaper band, I realized how wrong I was. Not only did it just not support my belly, but it would roll up on itself and then it would be digging into my back and sides.

My husband ultimately insisted that I return the less expensive band and he ordered this one from Amazon. And I am SO happy he did!! I have worn this belly band for 2 days now and I feel almost normal; no pain, just bigger around :D

If you are wondering if this is worth the price, let me reassure you, IT IS and then some! I spent around $200 during my last pregnancy trying to find this kind of relief. I wish I could go back 3 years and give myself this band and save myself $130.

As far as the complaints about the Velcro not working after a few washes, it makes me wonder if they are following the washing directions. Hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. If they were washed in a machine that could damage the Velcro. I imagine using any type of fabric softener might do that as well.

I have only had mine a few days though. I will update in a few weeks.

***UPDATE***
I used this successfully through the end of my third pregnancy and it was a life saver! I had no problem with the Velcro losing grip.
My band saw me through the last 6 weeks of my last pregnancy. My sister ended up borrowing it for the last 2 months of her last pregnancy (she has a shorter torso than me and struggles with carrying babies for a lot longer before it becomes a problem for me). She said it was great and asked if she could borrow it her next time around :)
I am pregnant again and am relieved to know that I have this ready and waiting as soon as I start to need extra support.
I love this product!!

If you are carrying multiples, you MUST get this belly band. It's expensive, but worth every single penny. I'm currently 7 months pregnant with twins.
This band keeps my electric right-side round ligament pain away, and helps keep my long "get off your feet" evening contractions at bay. I'm usually a size Medium in pants, a size 8/10 dress size, so ordered a Black Large-sized band at about 5 months along. *I recommend sizing up!! This band carried me up until exactly 28 weeks, when I started noticing the velcro not sticking very well (specifically the female non-scratchy side.. it looked like it was combed out with no more fluff for the velcro to grab onto, which makes sense given the daily usage.) In a panic (if you've ever had round ligament pain, you can relate!!), I ordered the White XLarge-size. Note: If you're a singleton Mama, this band may last you longer than what I have experienced. With multiples, our tummies grow double-fast, so once the weight started packing on it was time for an upsize and new band.

I wanted to test the efficacy of the velcro on the white compared with the black, due to another highly-rated review stating the white was lower quality. So, drumroll.. It's great and equally as awesome as the black. Both are sticky, both relieve pain, and both hold up this gigantic tummy carrying two babies. A double thumbs up. Pros of the black: I found wearing the band over black maternity yoga pants (Ingrid & Isabel from Target make nice capris) feels very comfortable. And the black band blends right into the pants, which is nice. Pros of the white: If you wear a light colored, thinner fabric dress or top, white would be less visible. But when you hit the third trimester, it's really tomatos tomahtos.

Before my belly got large and I could fully appreciate this band, I tried the AZMED Maternity Belt. This $25 band is great for early on when belly weight is minimal. Huge pro here is that it's nude. The AZMED band itself is thinner also, so it doesn't have the band-ridge along your back, like the Belly Bandit. It's not a deal breaker, but the Belly Bandit is pretty obvious under a thinner-fabric dress, especially when you get larger and those once-flowy maxi dresses start becoming a little more body-hugging. ; ) I try to go back and wear my flowy dresses wearing the nude AZMED, but always ALWAYS end up getting terrible round ligament pains and contractions after an hour or so. Where, the Belly Bandit keeps me supported all afternoon. Comfort over discreet fashion at this point. I tell ya, Belly Bandit is the way to go! It's a blessing!!

I’ve had really sever back pain this pregnancy (needing physical therapy) and was recommended that I get one of these by my physical therapist (not this particular model, but this brand was named). I hesitated a little bit on the price, especially since I didn’t use any support in my last pregnancy, but ultimately got it with future pregnancies in mind. I do think it’s helped make a difference in the amount and severity of my pain (in addition to the exercises I’ve been prescribed and icing/applying heat). I didn’t give 5 stars because, while I know it might seem self-explanatory, it didn’t come with any instructions at all about how tightly you should wrap it and I’ve had to wait until I can see my physical therapist again in order to check if I’m using it properly. It only comes with wash instructions and that’s only because those are printed directly onto the fabric. I personally wouldn’t recommend sitting with it, it sits a bit awkwardly, but definitely feels helpful to wear while standing doing dishes, folding laundry, or other similar tasks.

I tried 3 other belly bands and this one was the clear winner. I am short so some of the other belly bands were too long for my torso. Pre-pregnancy weight was around 120lb, but with a twin pregnancy, I have gained almost 40lbs all concentrated in my belly by week 30 so this has put a lot of strain on my back. It isn’t a miracle worker, but it is nice support and helps.
